PREDATOR WHO TARGETED MORE THAN 100 TEENAGE BOYS ONLINE IS JAILED
A man accused of cyber abuse, who targeted over 100 teenage boys through online platforms over several years, has been sentenced to prison after an extensive investigation by Essex Police.The Police Online Investigation Team (POLIT) acted on information that linked an account belonging to Conor Brady to the uploading of illicit videos featuring children.
In November 2022, the 32-year-old was detained and did not reply when questioned.
A search warrant was carried out at his residence in Basildon, where he lived in a separate unit at the rear of the property, leading to the seizure of numerous digital devices.
Forensic examination of these devices uncovered evidence of Brady’s criminal activities.
His communications with boys aged between 13 and 17 years occurred via social media, including Instagram and Snapchat.
Using false identities, often posing as a teenage girl, he persuaded and coerced victims into exposing themselves or engaging in sexual conduct.
Unbeknownst to the victims, he recorded these activities using screen capture software.
Brady also engaged in the sharing and procurement of child abuse material.
The investigation also revealed that he operated multiple user accounts to manipulate and deceive his victims into believing they were interacting with different individuals.
After a thorough, three-year criminal probe that involved identifying, interviewing, and providing support to victims, Brady faced formal charges.
Confronted with extensive evidence, he admitted guilt to 47 charges at Basildon Crown Court on Friday, 24 October, and was subsequently sentenced.
Two counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in penetrative sexual activity 14 counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity 23 counts of causing or inciting sexual exploitation of a child three counts of sexual communication with a child making indecent photographs of a child (138 Cat A) making indecent photographs of a child (473 Cat B) making indecent photographs of a child (1272 Cat C) distributing indecent photographs of children (8 Cat B) distributing indecent photographs of children (4 Cat C) Brady, of Long Riding, was jailed for 10 years with a further six years on extended licence.
He was also placed on the sex offenders register for life and given a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
