FIFE MAN SENT SEXUAL REMARKS TO DECOY ACCOUNTS POSING AS CHILDREN
2026: STUNG BY RED ROSE UK AND REMANDED INTO CUSTODY 2023: A man from Lumphinnans, Connor Webster, was caught sending sexualised messages to decoy social media accounts posing as 13-year-old girls. He was snared by Child Safety Online members in January 2019.
Webster sent sexual remarks on social media to an account he believed belonged to a 13-year-old called Tamara Dean, but between December 29, 2018, and January 22, 2019, the messages were actually sent to an adult.
Additionally, between January 3 and 13, 2019, he sent messages containing sexual remarks to what he believed was a 13-year-old named Layla Hardy; however, these messages were received by another adult member of the same paedophile hunter group.
Webster, who was 23 at the time and now lives in Lumphinnans, sent these messages from his previous address in Burntisland.
He admitted that the messages were sent intentionally for sexual gratification or to humiliate, distress, or alarm his victims.
His defense solicitor claimed that groups of that nature set up fake profiles, and Webster was 20 at the time, suggesting he has since matured.
Sheriff Pino Di Emidio ordered Webster to be placed on the Sex Offenders Register, issued a two-year supervision order, and ordered him to complete 120 hours of unpaid work.
He was also instructed not to contact children without permission, not to clear his online search history, and to make devices with internet access available for inspection.
Additionally, Webster was fined £250 for missing a previous court hearing.
