CASSANDRA PEARCE FROM LUMPHINNANS INVOLVED IN VIOLENT OUTBURST AT WEDDING AND HOME

A woman from Lumphinnans, identified as Cassandra Pearce, was involved in a series of aggressive and violent actions that culminated in her assaulting her partner. The incident began during a wedding celebration, where Pearce's behavior was reportedly influenced by a combination of alcohol and anti-depressant medication, which she claimed contributed to her loss of control.

According to court reports, Pearce initiated a confrontation with hotel staff inside the premises of the wedding venue. The altercation was reportedly over the condition of the hotel’s facilities, which led to her becoming increasingly agitated. Following this incident, Pearce left the hotel and traveled to her partner’s residence, where the situation escalated further.

Depute Fiscal Dev Kapadia, presenting the case at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday, explained that Pearce had only recently gained full custody of her daughter from a previous relationship, just three weeks prior to the incident. This recent change in her personal circumstances may have contributed to her emotional state at the time.

Witnesses reported that Pearce was collected by a taxi after the hotel incident. The driver noted that she was visibly injured, unsteady on her feet, and was falling over in the car park. Upon arriving at her partner’s house, Pearce confronted him aggressively, shouting and swearing, with her exclamations including, “You f***ing prick! You left me!” She then physically assaulted her partner by striking him on the head and body.

Her partner managed to remove her from the house, at which point police were contacted. Pearce’s behavior was described as threatening and abusive during this confrontation.

At the court, Pearce, of Viewfield Terrace, Lumphinnans, admitted to the charges of threatening behavior and assaulting her partner on September 30. She acknowledged that her actions were unacceptable and expressed remorse for her conduct.

Her defense solicitor, Russel McPhate, explained that a combination of personal issues and health concerns contributed to her behavior on that day. He detailed that Pearce had been dealing with the aftermath of an abusive relationship and had recently started taking anti-depressants. He emphasized that she was not accustomed to alcohol, and the mixture of medication and alcohol had adversely affected her judgment.

McPhate also referenced Pearce’s previous conviction, which was dealt with at Croydon Crown Court, where she was convicted of assaulting her mother following an argument. He noted that Pearce had since moved to Scotland in an effort to distance herself from that troubled past.

Judge Charles Macnair decided to defer sentencing Pearce for three months, contingent upon her good behavior. In his remarks, he expressed concern over her pattern of violent and abusive reactions, stating, “You already have a significant conviction, and it appears that when things do not go your way, you behave in a violent or abusive manner. If you continue to react this way, it will not end well for you.”
