SOUTHEND RAPIST CONNOR GEORGE JAILED FOR 11 YEARS AFTER VIOLENT ASSAULT
A man convicted of a violent sexual assault has been sentenced to 11 years in prison after attacking a woman in Southend.Connor George, aged 29, visited the victim’s residence uninvited in November 2022, carrying a folding knife.
A confrontation broke out, during which the victim, in distress, attempted to contact the police.
Throughout the assault, George groped her, stripped her clothes, and raped her.
Witnesses saw what was happening and alerted law enforcement, resulting in his arrest and questioning at Southend Police Station.
George claimed he possessed the knife for work purposes but initially denied committing the rape.
He later acknowledged his involvement after a recorded audio of the incident was played during the trial.
George also claimed the victim was ‘acting,’ but the jury convicted him by a majority of ten to two.
Evidence presented included a recording where the victim was crying during the assault and expressed ongoing fear, anxiety, and mistrust afterward.
In addition to the rape, George was found guilty of possessing a bladed article, leading to an 11-year prison term.
The judge emphasized the seriousness of his actions during sentencing.
