COLIN HOLLANDS SENTENCED TO 24 YEARS IN PRISON FOR ABUSE IN AYLESBURY
Colin Mark Hollands, a 60-year-old resident of Aylesbury, has been handed down a severe prison sentence of 24 years at Aylesbury Crown Court on December 22nd. The conviction follows a series of heinous crimes committed over several years within the town, involving the sexual exploitation of a young female victim.Hollands had previously entered a guilty plea on August 29th to a total of seventeen charges related to his abusive conduct. These charges included seven counts of engaging in sexual activity with a female child, four counts of assault involving penetration of a child, three counts of rape, two counts of raping a child, and two counts of inciting a child to participate in sexual acts. In addition, he admitted to one count each of indecent assault, sexual assault, causing a child to observe a sexual act, and inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity.
The investigation into Hollands' actions was initiated after his arrest on June 8th, 2023. He was formally charged a week later, on June 14th, 2023. The crimes spanned multiple years, with the abuse taking place within the community of Aylesbury, leaving a lasting impact on the victim and the wider community.
Detective Constable Collette Parker, who led the investigation, expressed her thoughts on the sentencing, stating, “This sentence brings justice to the victims and appropriately punishes Hollands for his reprehensible behaviour over a number of years.” She emphasized the profound effect the abuse had on the victim’s life, describing it as a case of horrific control, manipulation, and sustained exploitation.
Detective Parker also extended her gratitude to the victims, acknowledging their bravery and resilience. “I would like to thank the victims in this case who have shown great courage, determination, and dignity in their support for the investigation,” she said. “We would not be where we are today without them taking that step forward and providing the vital evidence needed to prosecute Hollands. With their strikingly similar compelling accounts, a strong case was built against Hollands, leading to his admission of guilt.”
