SUFFOLK MAN JAILED FOR BRUTAL ATTACK ON PARTNER OVER DINNER DISPUTE
A violent Suffolk man named Christopher Woods has been sentenced to nine months in jail for assaulting his partner, Lauren Baldwin. The incident occurred on August 7 when Woods returned home late and was angered that his dinner wasn't ready.
According to court reports, Woods pushed Lauren Baldwin and then punched her causing a cut to her lip.
The force was so severe that her neck was thrown back, and blood landed on Woods' face.
He then pushed her onto the floor and punched her four times in the stomach.
Neighbors heard shouting—"Get off me" and "leave me alone"—and called the police.
Upon arrest, Woods admitted to assault causing actual bodily harm and breaching a suspended prison sentence.
He previously received a 12-week sentence suspended for 12 months after choking a neighbor and had been given a conditional discharge for assault on Miss Baldwin in 2015.
His defense stated he was tired and irritable after a long day of work, and both parties agreed their relationship was now over.
