--------------------------- 2025-10-24 00:09: A sex offender from Swindon has been found with child abuse images for the third time.
Christopher Stagg violated his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) by downloading 3,165 indecent images of children over a span of seven weeks.
Between June 6 and July 26 this year, the 51-year-old accessed this material using undisclosed devices, which were concealed inside an extractor fan and a metal bed frame.
The images discovered included 139 of the most severe Category A, 341 Category B images, and 2,685 Category C images.
Wiltshire Police’s Management of Sexual Offenders and Violent Offenders (MOSOVO) team had to force entry into his residence at Applewood Court, Westlea, despite the SHPO requiring him to permit access for device checks.
Stagg is also prohibited from owning any devices not authorized by police.
On November 6, at Swindon Crown Court, he received a two-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to three breaches of the SHPO and three counts of creating indecent images of children.
This marks his third conviction related to child abuse images, and he remains on the sex offenders register.
Officer Beccy Scott of Wiltshire Police’s Child Internet Exploitation Team praised the sentence, emphasizing that his continued illegal activity contributes to the exploitation of children.
She stated, “Despite being subject to a court order and registered as a sex offender, Stagg persistently re-offended by using hidden devices in his home, monitored by our department.
His actions have fueled the market for child abuse material.
Officers had to force their way into his home and discovered devices concealed inside his kitchen extractor fan and metal bed frame.
He has previously been convicted of producing child sexual abuse images, and every child depicted in the images he possessed is a victim of sexual exploitation.
I welcome today's custodial sentence.
Protecting vulnerable children and prosecuting offenders remains the priority of the Child Internet Exploitation Team.”
