SEX OFFENDER CHRISTOPHER SMITH FOUND DEAD IN WALSALL JAIL CELL, POLICE INVESTIGATE MURDER
In July 1995, authorities initiated a murder investigation following the death of a prisoner convicted of sex offences at Long Lartin Prison in Worcestershire.
The deceased was identified as Christopher James Smith, aged 37, from Walsall in the West Midlands.
He was serving a nine-year sentence at the time of his death.
A police spokesperson confirmed that a post-mortem examination revealed Smith died from severe head injuries.

Smith was discovered dead in his cell during lunchtime on Tuesday.
