CHRISTOPHER REYNOLDS SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CRIME AGAINST SCHOOLGIRL IN ROWLEY REGIS AND KIDDERMINSTER

In a case that has shocked the local communities of Rowley Regis and Kidderminster, Christopher Reynolds, a man with a disturbing history, was convicted of heinous crimes committed against a young girl. The incident, which took place in 2011 when Reynolds was residing in the Kidderminster area, involved the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl, with the abuse reportedly beginning when she was just 11 years old.

Reynolds, aged 28 at the time of his sentencing, faced a jury at Worcester Crown Court where he was found guilty of one count of rape and two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child. Despite his denial of the charges, the evidence presented during the trial was compelling enough to secure a conviction. The crimes inflicted upon the young girl have left a lasting scar, and her ordeal has been described as 'terrible' by authorities.

The case came to light after the victim, overwhelmed by her trauma, broke down at school, prompting police investigation. Detective Constable Claire Marsden of West Mercia Police stated, “The offences came to light when the victim broke down at school. Reynolds put this young girl through a terrible ordeal and by maintaining his innocence, he then put her through the further trauma of having to give evidence at his trial.”

She emphasized the profound impact the crimes have had on the victim’s life, noting, “His actions have had a major impact upon her life, and will undoubtedly affect her in some ways for the rest of her life.” The justice system responded firmly, with Reynolds receiving a substantial 12-year prison sentence, reflecting the severity of his offenses.

Furthermore, Reynolds, who was residing on Throne Crescent at the time of his arrest, was subjected to an indefinite Sex Offenders Notice. This means that upon his eventual release from prison, he will be legally required to register his details with the police, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
