CARDIFF MAN SENTENCED FOR THREATENING VIOLENCE AND DOMESTIC ABUSE
Christopher Moore, a 39-year-old man from Cardiff, was involved in a frightening domestic abuse incident where he sent two voice messages to his partner's mother, making explicit threats to harm and kill.In the messages, Moore declared his intent to attack, stating: "I'm going to put a Stanley in her f****** throat," and warned others to "run to the hills" if they wished to stay alive.
He also said he would "absolutely annihilate" anyone he encountered, threatening to harm his partner and others around him.
During the court hearing at Cardiff Crown Court, it was revealed that Moore had a significant criminal record with 26 previous convictions, including harassment where he threatened a former partner.
Moore pleaded guilty to making threats to kill, and in mitigation, his lawyer explained that he had turned to alcohol after discovering his cousin's death, which had affected his mental health.
The judge described his behavior as "completely unrestrained and unacceptable," citing his history of domestic abuse.
Consequently, he was sentenced to 14 months imprisonment, with a plan to serve half in custody and the remaining on license.
