KEIGHLEY MAN CHRISTOPHER FLETCHER SENTENCED AFTER DISCOVERY OF NEARLY 20,000 INDECENT IMAGES
In August 2012, Christopher Fletcher, a 30-year-old resident of Keighley, was sentenced to a three-year community order after authorities found nearly 20,000 indecent images of children on his computer.
The images were discovered during a search warrant executed at his flat, where he had been living with his grandmother, in Keighley back in March 2006.
Bradford Crown Court was informed last Thursday that most of the images were classified at the least serious level one.
The court heard that Fletcher had been released on bail pending a detailed examination of his computer.
However, authorities were unable to locate him for two years, during which he was arrested on charges of wasting police time.
It then took another two years for the police to complete their investigation.
Fletcher was finally charged five years after the offences.
He, of Emily Street, Keighley, pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children.
As part of his sentence, he will be required to attend a sex-offender treatment programme and was ordered to sign the sex offenders register.
