CHRISTOPHER CURTIN FROM THE ROYAL COURT SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS FOR SEX OFFENCES IN NOVEMBER 2007
In November 2007, Christopher Eugene Curtin, aged 47, was sentenced to a five-year prison term by the Royal Court after admitting to multiple serious sexual offences.
He pleaded guilty to charges including indecent assault, procuring an act of gross indecency, and viewing child pornography online.
The court was informed that Curtin had examined nearly 3,400 images, some depicting children as young as a few months old engaged in penetrative sex, sadism, and bestiality.
Crown Advocate Michael O’Connell explained that the investigation was initiated after the victim recognized Curtin working in a toy shop and subsequently contacted the police following a media appeal encouraging victims of sexual abuse to come forward.
He stated: ‘It is considered that he will always represent a risk to children.
He is at a high risk of sexual reoffending and a high risk of harm to children.’
