WOMAN JAILED AFTER FALSELY ACCUSING THREE PEOPLE OF RAPE
A woman has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after pleading guilty to obstructing justice by falsely alleging a rape involving three individuals. The defendant, Chloe May, 24, of Agar Nook in Coalville, claimed she had been assaulted in a hotel in Loughborough in July 2023.
An extensive police investigation ensued, leading to the arrest of the three suspects.
During the inquiry, discrepancies emerged between May’s account and the testimonies of the suspects during police interviews, as well as with evidence in the form of CCTV footage reviewed by investigators.
