2007; SEX ATTACKERS JAILED
Chitrakumar Ramluggan, aged 51, was put behind bars for 18 months after he pleaded not guilty to eight charges of sexual assault but both men were convicted on all offences by a jury at the end of their trial. Both were further ordered to register as Sex Offenders for 10 years.
The trial was told none of the victims of the sex attacks were residents at the Nursing Home where Ramluggun worked as a maintenance worker.
Mr Christopher O'Gorman, defending Ramchelawon, said he had a history of work in the care industry and he would now find it extremely difficult to get employment in the future.
"He is in essence a marked man," Mr O'Gorman told Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday December 10.
Miss Melanie Simpson, for Ramluggun, said he had been working hard to provide money for his family in Mauritius and maintained he had already suffered after over-dosing when the jury returned their first guilty verdict.
Judge Nicholas Webb said Ramchelawon, of Brecon Road, Handsworth, and Ramluggun, of Sandringham Drive, Willenhall, near Walsall, had both shown no shame or remorse for their crimes.
He said the sexual assaults they had carried out were extremely serious offences adding,.
"Custody is the only way to deal with you." The Judge told Ramchelawon he had encouraged the exploits of Ramluggan as he added, "You were in a position of authority which you flagrantly abused."
