HAMILTON SEX FILM SICKO CHAVEZ AFZAL SENTENCED FOR ILLEGAL SEX ACTS AND INTIMIDATION

In a case that has shocked the community of Hamilton, Chavez Afzal, a 20-year-old man, was sentenced to more than five years in a young offenders’ institution after being convicted of serious criminal activities involving a minor. The incident, which took place in September 2013, involved Afzal filming himself engaging in sexual acts with a girl who was approximately 14 or 15 years old at the time.

During the trial at the High Court in Edinburgh, the court heard that Afzal was acquitted of the charge of raping the young girl. However, he was found guilty of having sexual relations with her and, crucially, of recording these acts on film. The court also established that Afzal had attempted to intimidate a witness involved in the case, adding a further layer of criminal misconduct to his actions.

Despite the acquittal on the rape charge, the judge, Lord Kinclaven, emphasized the severity of Afzal’s crimes and the need for a strong custodial sentence. Addressing Afzal directly, Lord Kinclaven stated, “There is no alternative to a significant custodial sentence,” underscoring the gravity of the offenses committed.

Following the sentencing, Afzal was taken into custody and will serve his time in a young offenders’ institution, reflecting the serious nature of his crimes and the court’s stance on protecting minors from exploitation and abuse.
