DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIM DESCRIBES ORDEAL AS PARTNER JAILED AGAIN
Storm Gubby, aged 40, from Milton Keynes, has publicly shared her traumatic experiences of domestic violence caused by her husband Charles Bigrigg, aged 43.Bigrigg's abusive behaviour escalated over the years, including physical assaults and harassment.
Notably, on Christmas Eve, Bigrigg falsely accused Storm of flirting with Santa at a local event.
This led to a violent attack where he dragged her from a car, kicking her in the stomach, punching her, and smashing her head against the car door, leaving her bloodied with a fractured brow bone.
She was hospitalized and later testified to the police.
Bigrigg was convicted of grievous bodily harm in April 2016, sentenced to 30 months but served only 11, and subsequently jailed again in January this year for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assaulting an emergency worker, receiving a 40-month sentence.
Despite multiple restraining orders, Bigrigg continued to harass Storm, assaulting her again in a hotel room in August 2022.
He was arrested after this attack, pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to an additional 40 months in prison.
Storm has now moved away with her children, emphasizing the importance of seeking help for domestic abuse and warning that early release policies prioritize offenders over victims.
