CARLY DIANE HICKMAN CAUGHT IN SALTASH PUBLIC INDECENCY AFTER PRISON RELEASE

A woman identified as Carly Diane Hickman has once again found herself at the center of a public indecency incident in the town of Saltash, Cornwall, shortly after being released from incarceration. The 37-year-old, who has no fixed address, appeared before Truro Crown Court on Friday, May 16, to face charges related to her repeated acts of public indecency. Hickman had previously been convicted of similar offences in the same location, raising concerns about her ongoing struggles with mental health, substance misuse, and homelessness.

The court was informed that Hickman was observed by a member of the public sitting on the ground in Saltash during the early afternoon hours of February. Witnesses reported that she had her trousers around her ankles and was engaged in masturbation, specifically rubbing her groin area. Shortly after, another witness saw her leaning against a wall with her leggings and underwear around her ankles, continuing to perform the act. A third individual also reported seeing Hickman near a shop, engaging in the same behaviour. When approached and asked if she was okay, Hickman reportedly told the witness to go away and leave her alone.

Following these reports, police officers arrived at the scene and took Hickman into custody. She has remained in detention since her arrest. During the court proceedings, her defense attorney, Victoria Bastock, suggested that her actions might have been influenced by drug use, which she described as a potential factor in her behaviour. The court was also made aware of Hickman’s extensive criminal record, which includes similar offences, as well as ongoing mental health issues and difficulties in accessing support for substance abuse.

In police interviews, Hickman admitted to the acts, stating she did not expect to be caught and was unsure why she engaged in such behaviour.
