CARL WINDSOR FROM NORWICH SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN SURREY AND LANCASHIRE
A 29-year-old man named Carl Windsor, originally from Norwich, has been sentenced to six years in prison after traveling from his hometown to Oxted in Surrey with the explicit intent of engaging in sexual abuse of a young child.Windsor’s journey was part of a disturbing plan to meet with an online acquaintance in Surrey, where he aimed to assault a five-year-old girl.
However, his plans were thwarted when officers from Kent Police, who had been investigating his online activities, intercepted him before any harm could be done.
Windsor’s arrest was the result of a joint investigation involving Lancashire Police, which was initiated after allegations surfaced that he had sexually abused a nine-year-old girl.
The investigation revealed a pattern of disturbing behavior and intentions, prompting law enforcement agencies to act swiftly to prevent further harm.
Initially, Windsor denied all allegations against him, but he later admitted to several serious charges.
He pleaded guilty to sexual assault and to arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence.
Additionally, he confessed to downloading indecent images of children, further highlighting the severity of his criminal conduct.
Detective Constable Jo-anne Gordon, a member of Kent Police’s paedophile online investigation team, commented on the case, stating, ‘The evidence we gathered against Carl Windsor displayed an obvious desire to carry out sexual acts on a child.
He is a risk to the public, and the prison sentence along with his registration on the sex offender register should help protect potential victims.’ Gordon emphasized the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to combat such crimes, saying, ‘Consequently, we will do everything in our power to proactively target people who seek to commit sexual offences against children and ensure they receive a prison sentence.’
