WALSALL MAN SENTENCED TO 16 YEARS FOR DOMESTIC HOMICIDE
A 33-year-old man from Walsall has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for the murder of his partner.Carl Truffas was convicted of killing Natalie James at her home on Kings Road in the Rushall area of Walsall last year.
The 23-year-old victim was found early on August 7 with extensive injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy confirmed she died from a stab wound to the neck.
Truffas, who was apprehended at the scene, was subsequently charged with both burglary and murder.
He appeared before Wolverhampton Crown Court earlier today, where he admitted to burglary and was convicted of murder on March 7.
Following her death, her parents expressed their grief, stating: 'Nobody had anything but good things to say about Natalie.
She was a fantastic mother to her two boys and a wonderful daughter and sister.
We miss her deeply and are completely devastated.' An investigation led by Inspector Shelly Reynolds emphasized that those who carry knives to commit assaults will be swiftly brought to justice.
