PRISONER FLASHED WOMAN OFFICER IN JAIL AFTER LEWD CALLS TO AGE UK
A PERVERTED prisoner is back behind bars after flashing a female officer in a Warrington prison.Carl Fahy was previously locked up after he made 54 lewd calls to a helpline for elderly people and performed sex acts while he was on the phone.
The 35-year-old was jailed for 14 months in November, and during a spell of imprisonment at HMP Risley, he committed a further offence.
This led to him being charged with exposure – a charge which he denied but was found guilty of following a trial at Crewe Magistrates’ Court.
Heather Bell, prosecuting, told the court that the incident occurred at the Warrington Road category C prison on May 20 this year.
Fahy intentionally exposed his genitals to a lone, vulnerable female prison officer, intending that she would see them and be caused alarm or distress.
Magistrates commented that custody was inevitable due to the severity of his offending and his ‘extensive’ criminal record of more than 80 previous convictions.
Fahy, of no fixed abode, but formerly of St Helens, was sentenced by magistrates to six weeks in prison.
He was also made the subject of a 10-year sexual harm prevention order which bans him from entering any woman’s or children’s clothing area of a shop.
The defendant is also prohibited from children's, women's, or unisex changing rooms of any shop, swimming baths, or leisure centre, and from any gender-neutral public toilets.
Further prohibitions are exposing or touching his genitals or underwear in public, approaching or pestering any lone woman, and contacting any helpline, charity, or support organisation without prior permission or in an emergency.
Over a six-day period, he rang the Age UK advice line, which offers free support for elderly or vulnerable people, on 54 separate occasions.
“He would only speak to female members of staff and he would repeat their names throughout the call.
The crown’s case is that he made these calls for sexual gratification,” the court heard.
On one occasion, the woman on the other end from Age UK noticed that his ‘breathing had changed’, and she realised that he was performing a sex act on himself.
On another occasion, the call handler asked Fahy for his postcode so that she could offer him advice on support available to him, but he responded by spelling out ‘bum hole’ and began performing a sex act again.
