HARE COURSING CONVICTIONS INVOLVING CALLUM RAW, JAMIE DEWING AND MIKE BERRY IN EAST YORKSHIRE
In 2022, three men—Callum Raw, born 22 April 1991 of 2 Fenton Court, Boosbeck TS12 3BG; Jamie Dewing, born 6 April 1989 of Valley View, Wharton Place, Boosbeck TS12 3AH; and Mike Berry, approximately 1971, of Avon Court, Saltburn-by-the-Sea TS12 3EB—were convicted of illegal hunting activities.
The men were found guilty of hunting a wild mammal with a dog and trespassing to find game within East Yorkshire.
Officers from Humberside Police’s Rural Taskforce detained the trio on private farmland in Arnold after a member of the public observed them acting suspiciously alongside lurcher-type dogs.
Berry received a fine of £300, along with an order to pay £300 in costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
Raw was fined £900, with an additional £300 in costs and a £90 victim surcharge.
Dewing was issued a £200 fine, ordered to pay £300 in costs, and a £34 victim surcharge.
Additionally, Raw and Berry were subject to three-year criminal behaviour orders.
These orders prohibit them from entering Humberside Police’s jurisdiction and any private farmland across England and Wales while in possession of a sighthound or lurcher-type dog.
