HUDDERSFIELD ROAD OFFENDER SENTENCED FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND THREATS
A victim of violence reported that her ex-boyfriend, Callum Raistrick, repeatedly assaulted her.Raistrick spat at her and poured a kettle of water over her, which she described as 'heartbreaking' and said her life has been ruined by his actions.
The victim detailed that Raistrick and her were in a 15-month relationship that ended in October last year.
Subsequently, on Christmas Eve, he made an abusive phone call and showed up at her Crosland Moor home, where his brother caused damage to her property by breaking a window with a metal bar.
Despite Raistrick's confrontations, she revealed that he later sent her a message asking to meet and they had consensual sex.
However, his behaviour escalated as he became abusive again, calling her names and pouring cold water over her with a kettle, and grabbing her arm in an attempt to remove a ring from her finger.
She reported that he also threatened to smash her windows and, following this, she found her windows broken.
On January 25, Raistrick sent a threatening message to her new boyfriend, saying, 'I'm going to stamp all over his Emo skull.' Raistrick, of Huddersfield Road in Holmfirth, admitted to criminal damage and sending malicious communications, and was found guilty following a trial at Huddersfield court.
The court sentenced him to a community order, requiring up to 30 days of rehabilitation activities, 100 hours of unpaid work, and ordered him to pay his ex £250 in compensation and the prosecution £250 in costs.
A one-year restraining order was also issued banning him from contacting the victim or visiting her residence.
His actions have caused her ongoing emotional distress, including nightmares, flashbacks, and a sense of helplessness, affecting her ability to form stable relationships and causing her to feel isolated and fearful in her daily life.
