BODMIN MAN CAUGHT WITH BESTIALITY AND CHILD ABUSE IMAGES, RESTRICTED FROM THE INTERNET
A young man has had his internet access severely restricted after being found with bestiality images and indecent images of children on his phone.Callum Pickering was arrested at his home in Harmer Close, Bodmin after police were alerted that indecent images of children were being accessed.
A search of his smartphone revealed a whole raft of indecent images including 30 from category A (the worst kind), 13 category B and 12 category C images.
Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police also found three extreme pornographic images portraying people performing oral sex on a horse.
The 20-year-old was charged with three counts of making indecent images of children, one count of possessing extreme pornography portraying an act of intercourse / oral sex with a dead / alive animal and one count of possession and distributing two category A indecent images of children.
All charges relate to a period between January 1, 2022, and September 22, 2022.
Pickering pleaded guilty to all charges when he appeared before Bodmin Magistrates' court in May this year.
He was sentenced by magistrates at another hearing on September 12 to a community order with a programme for 26 days with the Building Choices course as well as 10 days of rehabilitation activity requirement, and given 200 hours of unpaid work.
Pickering will also be on the sex offenders register for five years and a sexual harm prevention order is in place for seven years.
It is as part of that order that his access to the internet is also extremely restricted in that he is not allowed to own a device with access to the internet unless approved by police which he must contact within 72 hours of purchasing the said device.
