CALLUM DOBING FROM STONE SENTENCED FOR GROOMING AND SEXUAL ASSAULT IN NORTH STAFFORDSHIRE
In a recent case that has shocked the local community in North Staffordshire, a man identified as Callum Dobing, aged 26 and residing in Stone, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being found guilty of serious sexual offenses involving a minor.The incident, which took place earlier this year, involved a disturbing pattern of grooming and subsequent assault that has left many residents deeply concerned about safety and the protection of children in the area.
According to court records and police reports, Dobing engaged with the young victim through social media platforms, establishing a connection that quickly escalated into inappropriate and illegal conduct.
In April, he arranged to meet the girl in person, during which he committed a sexual assault.
The victim, whose identity remains protected, later reported the assault to authorities, prompting an immediate investigation.
Following the report, law enforcement officers swiftly apprehended Dobing.
He was taken into custody and subjected to questioning, during which he did not deny the allegations.
Instead, Dobing admitted to the offences in court, acknowledging his guilt in a case that drew significant media attention and concern from the local community.
On Wednesday, August 23, at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, Dobing was handed a substantial sentence of ten years in prison, with an extension period that could see him remain incarcerated for longer.
The court also imposed an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, a measure designed to prevent any future contact with minors and to monitor his activities closely.
In addition to the primary charges, Dobing pleaded guilty to failing to comply with sex offender notification requirements, a legal obligation that he neglected.
He was also convicted of meeting a girl under the age of 16 following grooming and of engaging in three separate counts of sexual activity with a child.
These convictions underscore the severity of his actions and the court's commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals from predatory behavior.
