BRADLEY YATES SENTENCED TO 5.5 YEARS IN PRISON FOR RAPE IN STONE AND STAFFORDSHIRE
Bradley Yates, a 23-year-old man from Lichfield Street in Stone, has been handed a prison sentence of five and a half years after being found guilty of serious sexual offenses involving a teenage boy.The conviction was secured at Shrewsbury Crown Court, where Yates was convicted of raping a boy aged between 13 and 15 years old.
The case drew significant attention due to the nature of the crimes and the age of the victim, highlighting the importance of safeguarding vulnerable minors.
In addition to the rape conviction, Yates faced three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a boy aged 13 to 15.
These charges stemmed from a trial held at Stafford Crown Court in January, during which Yates had already admitted guilt.
The court's decision reflects the gravity of his actions and the breach of trust involved in abusing a minor.
As part of his sentencing, Yates was ordered to register as a sex offender, a legal requirement aimed at monitoring his activities and preventing further offenses.
Furthermore, he was issued a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which imposes restrictions on his behavior and contact with minors to protect the community.
The investigation into Yates's crimes was conducted by Staffordshire Police’s child protection team, which began their inquiries following reports received in 2021.
