BRIAN WHITELOCK JAILED FOR LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE FOR MURDERING NEIGHBOUR
Brian Whitelock, 57, was found guilty last month at Swansea Crown Court of murdering Wendy Buckney, 71, on 23 August 2022.
The pensioner was discovered dead, bloodstained and naked, in her living room after Whitelock's attack.
He previously served a life sentence in 2001 for the murder of Nicholas "Nicky" Morgan, battering him to death with an axe handle and setting fire to his body, which also resulted in the death of his brother Glen.
Despite this, Whitelock was released in 2018, and he then moved in opposite Ms Buckney, who employed him for odd jobs.
During his sentencing, he appeared via video from prison, pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility but denied the murder.
A jury found him guilty in less than 30 minutes.
The judge described the murder as particularly senseless, inflicted with a frenzy of violence causing numerous injuries.
The family of Wendy Buckney described her as a loving and caring person traumatized by her death.
Whitelock was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole, with the judge stating he killed her for his own pleasure, degrading her in death and causing her to die a brutal, terrifying death.
