POLICE ARREST VIOLENT SEX OFFENDER BRIAN ANDREWS AFTER WEEK-LONG DISAPPEARANCE
A 'violent' sex offender who disappeared more than a week ago has been found, police said.
Brian Andrews, 32, went missing from Lanark in South Lanarkshire last Tuesday, with a tent, bag and a flight case.
He was arrested in Livingston, West Lothian, last night.
Andrews has previous convictions for serious sexual assaults, including the multiple rape of a 28-year-old woman in 2004.
Detective Inspector Nicola Burnett said: 'This arrest has been a result of a joint operation between Strathclyde Police and Lothian and Borders Police.' The force had said Andrews was a 'violent individual' and warned members of the public not to approach him.
