2013: KIDDERMINSTER MAN WHO STARTED ABUSING GIRLS WHEN HE WAS 11 JAILED
A KIDDERMINSTER man who started sexually abusing young girls when he was just 11 years old himself is behind bars.Blake Bingham, now aged 21, repeatedly attacked two young girls - one aged 11 and the other nine - as a form of "sexual experimentation", Worcester Crown Court heard today.
He would tell the girls they were just "playing a game" before getting them to climb into bed with him in attacks between May, 2002 and February, 2009.
Bingham, of Larkhill, was convicted last month of one charge of attempted rape and five charges of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13.
Judge Robert Juckes QC told the court the assaults only came to light years later after the two girls heard an allegation had been made by a third child, although no charges were ever brought.
"You were young at the time and particularly immature for your age," he said.
"It's probably true that you have a number of immature traits about you, even now.
It does seem to me that the damage that has been done will have an effect on [the girls] for the rest of their lives." He sentenced Bingham to three years concurrent on each count.
Abigail Nixon, defending, said the case was "difficult" due to Bingham's age at the time.
"He started offending when he was 11," she said.
"If you read between the lines of what happened between the defendant and the two girls, there must be some form of sexual experimentation taking place." In a video interview during the trial, one of his victims said that on one occasion Bingham had found an adult movie among his mother's belongings and tried to re-enact some of the scenes.
She said she was at first school at the time and did not understand what was happening to her, as she was too young.
"I knew it was wrong - I knew it shouldn’t have been happening," she added.
"I don't know why I didn't say anything.
I just kept it in.
I wish I had said something now."
