ASHLEY RILEY SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC SEXUAL ASSAULT IN LONG EATON
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Long Eaton, a 19-year-old man named Ashley Riley has been convicted of raping a 10-year-old girl in her own bed.The incident, which took place at a residence in Long Eaton, has led to Riley being sentenced to spend several years in a secure psychiatric facility, reflecting the severity of his crime.
According to court records, Riley pleaded guilty to the charge of rape during the hearing at Derby Crown Court.
The court was informed that the assault occurred on October 20 of the previous year, at a house in Long Eaton.
The young victim, whose identity remains protected, did not initially disclose the attack to her parents.
It was only later, when her father, Steven Riley, who was present at the same property during the incident, discovered something was amiss, that the truth came to light.
Steven Riley, aged 38 and residing on Granville Avenue in Long Eaton, appeared in court alongside his son.
He admitted to charges of perverting the course of justice, which involved failing to report the assault and attempting to conceal the truth.
His sentencing is scheduled for later this month.
