CARLISLE MAN GETS SUSPENDED JAIL FOR ONLINE GROOMING OF 13-YEAR-OLD
A Carlisle man in his late 20s, Ashley Little, 29, repeatedly engaged in online discussions with someone he believed was a 13-year-old girl.
The incident began on April 11, 2023, with Little initially lying about his age and asking the girl how old she was, to which she replied '13.' His response was 'That’s cool.' Over the next weeks, starting from April 23, the conversations turned sexual, with Little encouraging the girl to perform sex acts at school, providing detailed instructions and requesting explicit pictures.
Unbeknownst to him, the person he was talking to was an undercover police officer.
The police raid and seizure of his digital devices followed.
Little admitted to charges of attempting to sexually communicate with a child, attempting to cause a child to engage in sexual activity, and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
He was sentenced to a two-year suspended jail term, required to complete 15 rehabilitation activity days, will be on the Sex Offender Register for ten years, and was given a five-year sexual harm prevention order.
The judge noted the grooming behavior after conversations became sexual post-May 23, but commended his participation in harm reduction programs and his expression of remorse.
