LLANDRINDOD WELLS MAN BANNED FROM CONTACTING MUSIC TEACHER AFTER HARASSMENT
Ashley Formby, a 27-year-old from Llandrindod Wells, has been convicted of harassment after an 'infatuated' spell where he spent four months trying to pursue his music teacher, Helen Sedgwick.
During this period, he sent her numerous emails, phone messages, and gifts, including a model of the Titanic after learning the film's theme tune was 'My Heart Will Go On.' Ms Sedgwick told police that she was not interested in a relationship and that his continued contact made her anxious, fearing he might turn up at her home.
Ultimately, she called the police when he refused to cease his advances.
Formby admitted to police that he had a 'special bond' with Ms Sedgwick and was 'devastated' when she rejected him.
He was sentenced to a 12-month community order and was given an indefinite restraining order banning him from contacting her.
