EX-BLOCKLEY MAN JAILED AGAIN FOR MOLESTING GIRL'S COUSIN
An ex-Blockley man named Anthony Miles, who previously served a ten-year prison sentence for sexual offenses against a young boy and girl, has been returned to custody for molesting their cousin. The article states that Miles, 40, who resided on Robins Close, Cheltenham, admitted to two counts of indecency with a child and four counts of indecent assault against the girl between 1990 and 1992.
The girl, now aged 24, started her abuse at age five and continued until nine.
Miles had been released from prison in 2002 and was sentenced for an additional two years after the latest offenses were revealed, which took place during the same period.
The court also imposed a lifelong ban on him working with children.
The judge remarked that the offences were serious and caused substantial harm, affecting her ability to form relationships and trust others, and that the abuse only came to light after her own allegations surfaced.
Miles's defense highlighted his guilty pleas and the time elapsed since the offenses, suggesting the possibility of a suspended sentence.
The case emphasizes the continued impact of his abuse and the importance of protection for victims.
