In May 2022, Anthony McNally, a 73-year-old former educator residing on Rhine Close in Tottington, was involved in a high-profile case concerning allegations of sexual misconduct that spanned over a decade.

McNally, who previously taught at Woodhey High School and Derby Grammar School in Bury, faced serious charges related to the indecent assault of two young pupils during the 1970s and 1980s.
