ANTHONY HUDSON SENTENCE REDUCED IN WALSALL COURT CASE
In October 2015, a child molester who targeted a five-year-old schoolgirl has seen his prison sentence shortened.
Anthony Hudson was originally sentenced to four years in jail at Swansea Crown Court in March after being convicted of two sexual assaults.
The 56-year-old twice molested his young victim while living near Aberystwyth several years prior.
Hudson, who now resides in Windrush Close, Walsall, appeared before London's Appeal Court on Friday, where it was revealed he had abused his victim under the guise of innocent play.
Mrs Justice Lang, sitting alongside Lady Justice Rafferty and Mrs Justice Patterson, noted that Hudson’s otherwise "blameless and industrious" life had been marred by his actions.
She stated, "We have concluded that the overall four-year sentence was manifestly excessive." As a result, Hudson’s sentence was reduced from four years to three years of imprisonment.
