ANTHONY HENDERSON SENTENCED IN YORKSHIRE FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES
A man identified as Anthony Henderson has been sentenced to a total of three years and nine months in prison after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offences involving a minor.The sentencing took place at Hull Crown Court on the 15th of November, bringing a significant legal resolution to a case that has shocked the local community in Yorkshire.
Henderson, aged 62 and residing on Francis Avenue in Withernsea, had previously entered a guilty plea to a series of disturbing charges.
These included causing a child to participate in a sexual act, meeting a child after grooming them online, encouraging a child to watch a sexual act, and engaging in sexual communication with a minor.
The court's decision reflects the gravity of his actions and the threat he posed to vulnerable individuals.
In addition to his prison sentence, Henderson has been subjected to a sexual harm prevention order, which aims to restrict his activities and prevent further offenses.
Furthermore, he will be registered on the sex offenders register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and public safety measures.
The case came to a head in October when police uncovered evidence that Henderson had been communicating with a profile he believed belonged to a 13-year-old girl.
The evidence revealed that Henderson had sent sexually explicit messages, including images of himself and others, through this fake profile.
He also made arrangements to meet what he thought was a young girl in a public place, raising serious concerns about his intentions and the potential risk to minors.
Detective Sergeant Frances Robinson commented on the case, stating, “Henderson is a sexual predator and I’m pleased he is now behind bars and unable to continue with his attempts to target vulnerable people.” Her statement underscores the importance of law enforcement efforts in protecting children and vulnerable individuals from predators like Henderson, whose actions have now been brought to justice in Yorkshire.
