ANTHONY DUHIG FROM LEYTON SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IN ESSEX
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community, Anthony Duhig, aged 41, was sentenced to life imprisonment following his heinous crimes involving a mother and her young son.The incident unfolded after Duhig responded to a lonely hearts advertisement published in a newspaper based in Ilford, Essex, where he managed to establish a deceptive relationship with a mother of two.
Using this false connection, Duhig gained the trust and affection of the woman, which ultimately led to a series of criminal acts.
The court heard that he took advantage of her trust and, while she was asleep, molested her nine-year-old son.
The severity of his actions was compounded by his threats to physically harm the boy unless he complied with Duhig’s demands.
The young boy was subjected to assault and was instructed not to disclose what had happened, a detail that emerged during the court proceedings at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
