OLDHAM MAN JAILED FOR VIOLENT ASSAULTS ON WOMEN, INCLUDING PREGNANT PARTNER
Anthony Breame, a resident of Oldham, faced conviction on multiple counts of violent behavior, including assaults on his pregnant partner and other women. The court proceedings revealed that during a violent outburst, Breame physically attacked his pregnant girlfriend by strangling, headbutting, and punching her, even making threats to 'kick the baby out of her stomach.' His attack involved pulling her by the hair, repeatedly strangling her, and using force that caused her to gasp for air.
He also caused serious injury by breaking her jaw with a punch, shattered his mobile phone before throwing it at her, and hurled a can of Stella at her.
At the time, the woman was eight weeks pregnant.
During the incident, Breame accidentally pocket-dialed a man who overheard her screaming and pleading for him to stop.
Subsequently, he returned to her residence, made threats to kill her in front of her children, and, together with another man, broke into her home, smashing windows and assaulting her partner.
Additionally, Breame was convicted of assaulting a second woman, during which he held a knife to her throat and repeatedly struck her until she lost consciousness.
His criminal history includes 12 previous convictions covering 20 offenses, notably blackmail and arson, as well as prior assaults on an ex-partner.
He was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court to 10 years in prison, with an extended three-year license period.
Currently, he is serving his sentence behind bars.
Detective Constable Lamont described Breame as an aggressive and violent individual with a history of violence against women.
His case highlights a pattern of repeated brutality, especially toward women in his community.
