ANDREW ROSS FROM PEACEHAVEN BANNED AFTER CHILD INDECENCY FILM DOWNLOADS IN BRIGHTON
In May 2017, a serious legal action was taken against a man from Peacehaven following his involvement in the possession and download of highly illegal and disturbing material involving children.The individual, identified as Andrew Jonathon Ross, aged 42 and residing on Downland Avenue in Peacehaven, was found to have downloaded a significant number of indecent films that are classified under various categories of severity.
Specifically, Ross was found to have downloaded 25 films categorized as the most serious, Category A, which typically involves the most extreme and illegal content.
In addition, he possessed 18 films classified as Category B, and 11 films under Category C, which, while still illegal, are considered less severe but nonetheless highly inappropriate and criminal.
Following these discoveries, Brighton Magistrates took decisive legal action by imposing a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) on Ross.
This order was issued after he pleaded guilty on April 24 to the charges related to his possession and download of these illegal films.
The SHPO is a strict legal measure designed to prevent further harm and protect the public from individuals involved in such criminal activities.
The terms of the order are comprehensive.
Ross is explicitly prohibited from using any device or computer capable of accessing the internet unless it retains a complete browsing history, which must be accessible for inspection.
He is also barred from deleting his browsing history, encrypting data, or deleting any information that could be used to monitor his online activity.
Furthermore, law enforcement authorities are granted the right to check his devices at any time without prior notice, ensuring ongoing compliance with the court's directives.
