ST ASAPH MAN JAILED FOR NEARLY 100,000 INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN

A man from St Asaph, Andrew Morris, was found by police to be in possession of more than 95,000 indecent images of children.

Morris, aged 47, of Llys Dyffryn, admitted to making a significant number of these images across categories A, B, and C — specifically, 354 still and 76 moving images of category A, 927 still and 39 moving of category B, and 93,986 still plus 318 moving images of category C.

Officers discovered these images on various electronic devices in his home following a warrant executed on October 10, 2023.

Morris also had an internet history that showed search terms indicative of an interest in children.

He told police he was struggling with a pornography addiction and was often unaware of the content he was downloading.

He previously had no convictions.

Morris was jailed for two years at Mold Crown Court, and a sexual harm prevention order lasting 10 years was imposed, along with notification requirements as a sex offender for the same period.

The judge described the case as "exceptionally serious" and the number of images as "truly astonishing," condemning his conduct as "obsessive" and "disgraceful" for someone expected to be of good character.
