MAN JAILED FOR CHILD CRUELTY AND COERCIVE BEHAVIOUR
A man has been sentenced to nine years in prison after being found guilty of three offences related to child cruelty.Andrew Hack, aged 55, of Gorse Road in Grantham, admitted to engaging in controlling or coercive conduct within a family or intimate relationship.
He was also convicted of three charges of assaulting or mistreating a child or young person in a manner likely to cause unnecessary suffering or harm.
The sentencing took place at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday, July 10, with Mrs.
Recorder S Jenkins presiding.
Hack was given a prison sentence of seven years for one of the child cruelty offences, with the other two offences receiving concurrent seven-year sentences.
An additional two-year term was imposed for controlling or coercive behavior, to be served consecutively, resulting in an overall prison term of nine years.
A Lincolnshire Police statement said: “This has been a difficult time whilst the investigation has been ongoing for all involved and we would like to pay tribute to the family for their strength and determination throughout.” The court also granted restraining orders lasting 20 years.
