SEX OFFENDER SENT PICTURE OF HIS GENITALS TO 'TEENAGE BOY'
Andrew Gold, 41, with no permanent residence, was labeled “devious and manipulative” by Judge Catherine Richards during his sentencing at Swansea Crown Court.
He faced trial on allegations of attempting to communicate sexually with a minor and inciting a minor to participate in sexual acts.
He was found guilty of both charges on July 2, 2024.
Gold was sentenced to five years in prison, comprising a three-year custodial term plus two years on extended licence.
The court revealed that Gold, previously living in Tenby, engaged with what he believed to be a 14-year-old named Ryan who was actually an online decoy during June to September 2023.
The contact originated on a dating app and moved quickly to Snapchat.
Gold sent a nude image of his genitalia to ‘Ryan,’ asked for similar pictures, and described sexual acts he intended to carry out with him.
He also urged ‘Ryan’ to masturbate.
Furthermore, Gold was ordered to register as a sex offender for life and was placed under an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.
