MAN JAILED FOR RAPE
A man has received a prison sentence after being convicted of raping a woman in St Helens.Andrew Edward Jones, who hails from Shrewsbury, appeared before Liverpool Crown Court and admitted to two counts of rape.
The court was informed that the 42-year-old, residing on Corbet Close, committed the assault while visiting a property in St Helens in April 2024.
Jones was handed a sentence of 10 years and two months in prison on Thursday, 16 April.
Additionally, he will be required to register as a sex offender on a permanent basis.
