FOUR MEN JAILED FOR RAPING WOMAN IN EALING
Four men received custodial sentences totaling over 71 years after being convicted of raping a woman in Ealing. The incident involved the group engaging in a prolonged assault after they met the victim at a nightclub in August 2017.
Detective Constable Angie Meadows, who led the investigation, commented: “Throughout my career, this is among the most severe assaults I have encountered, and they warrant such extensive prison terms.” At Isleworth Crown Court on Wednesday, 12 May, Andrei Rotaru, aged 25 from Clun Road, Littlehampton, was sentenced to 17 years in prison after being convicted of rape the previous day at the same court.
The court was told that the four men were all present at a nightclub in Ealing on the evening of August 12, 2017.
CCTV footage showed Lupu approaching multiple women before dancing with the victim and purchasing drinks for her.
The woman intended to take a taxi home, but her phone was not working, and she left the club with Lupu, who offered to assist in arranging transportation.
She recalls being placed in the back of a vehicle along with four men, who drove her to a Northolt address, where she was repeatedly raped inside by all four men over approximately 90 minutes.
After the assault, the suspects returned the woman’s clothes and arranged for her to be taken home via taxi.
She reached a hospital, where she contacted police.
Officers attended the hospital and launched an investigation, utilizing CCTV footage from both the nightclub and its entry system to identify all four suspects.
They were subsequently arrested and questioned; however, each denied the allegations and offered different accounts of that night.
Detective Constable Meadows further stated: “The victim was simply out with friends when these men subjected her to a horrific attack, showing no remorse during our investigation.
“I hope this conviction provides some closure for her and helps her begin to move forward.
She demonstrated great strength and bravery by standing up against her attackers and cooperating with authorities.
