BRIGHTON POLICE APPEAL: TEEN ASSAULTED ON DITCHLING ROAD, WITNESSES URGED TO COME FORWARD
A man from Littlehampton has been sentenced following his involvement in sexual activities with a teenage girl.George Blackmore, aged 23 and residing on Arundel Drive, was just 19 when the incidents occurred, during which he fostered an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old girl.
The girl reported several episodes of sexual activity with Blackmore, including an allegation of rape dated 31 August 2021.
After his arrest in 2022, authorities discovered sexual images of the girl on Blackmore’s electronic devices.
Additionally, police received separate reports from a 16-year-old girl around the same timeframe, accusing Blackmore of engaging in sexual communications, which included sending her sexual videos and images.
Both victims received protective support and specialist care, while Blackmore faced multiple charges: rape, two counts of sexual activity with a minor, and possession of indecent images of a child, all relating to the 15-year-old.
He was further charged with sexual communication with a minor and inducing a minor to view images of sexual activity, involving the 16-year-old.
At Hove Crown Court on Thursday, 24 July, Blackmore was convicted of two counts of sexual activity with a child but acquitted of all other charges.
Subsequently, on 22 September, he received a sentence of 3.5 years in prison along with a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, significantly limiting his capacity to cause further harm.
Detective Constable Owen Watkins commented: “This has been a lengthy and difficult investigation for both victims, and I want to express my gratitude to them for coming forward and reporting these incidents to Sussex Police.”
