ANDREA DAVIES FROM LIVERPOOL SENTENCED FOR LEAVING LABRADOODLES TO STARVE IN ABANDONED HOUSE
Andrea Davies, born on April 5, 1993, and residing on Cherry Lane in Liverpool with the postcode L4 8SE, was found guilty of neglecting her two pet labradoodles, Koda and Hachi, leading to their tragic deaths. The heartbreaking case unfolded in Liverpool, where Davies abandoned her dogs in an uninhabited property, effectively condemning them to a slow and painful demise.
According to reports, Davies had moved out of the house on Stepney Grove, Liverpool, and failed to inform anyone about the dogs' presence.
She left her pets locked inside the property, which was in a filthy state, and never returned to care for them.
Her absence was only discovered when her former landlord entered the premises on August 9, 2016, approximately two months after Davies had vacated the property.
The landlord's inspection prompted a call to the RSPCA, which responded swiftly to investigate the situation.
RSPCA Inspector Helen Smith was among the first to arrive at the scene.
Upon entering the house, she was overwhelmed by the stench of decay and rot.
Inside the kitchen, she discovered the decomposing bodies of the two-year-old dogs, lying next to an empty water bowl.
The inspector described the scene as horrific, noting that the smell was so intense that it caused a police officer present at the scene to leave the house immediately.
The condition of the animals was appalling; they were severely malnourished, riddled with maggots, and in a state of advanced decomposition.
During the court proceedings, Peter Mitchell, representing the RSPCA, detailed the findings.
He explained that the landlord had directed Inspector Smith to the kitchen, where she observed the dogs in a dire state.
She estimated that the floor was covered in approximately 90% dog feces, some of which had become moldy.
The dogs' bodies showed clear signs of neglect and suffering, with the post-mortem examination indicating that dehydration was the likely cause of death, which would have taken around four days to result in their demise.
Davies admitted to leaving the house with a bowl of food and water for her pets but confessed she never returned to check on them.
She later claimed that her depression was a factor in her neglectful actions, describing her mental state as one where she had
