KIRKCALDY'S AMMAR ABDULLA ALRAHOW ON THE RUN AFTER DOMESTIC ABUSE CONVICTION

Law enforcement authorities are actively pursuing Ammar Abdulla Alrahow, a suspended medical practitioner originally from Fife, who has become the subject of a widespread manhunt following his recent conviction.

On September 19, 2023, Alrahow was found guilty in a court of law of committing domestic abuse, a serious criminal offense that has significant implications for his professional and personal life. The court also convicted him on two additional charges related to breaching bail conditions, further complicating his legal situation.

Despite the court's clear decision and the issuance of an arrest warrant, Alrahow failed to appear for his sentencing hearing scheduled for October 16, 2023, at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court. This absence has prompted authorities to intensify their efforts to locate him, with the Scottish Courts confirming that an active arrest warrant remains in effect.

In addition to the criminal proceedings, Alrahow is currently under investigation by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal System (MPTS). Between 2012 and 2017, Alrahow operated a locum business out of Kirkcaldy, providing temporary medical services. Currently, his whereabouts remain unknown, and authorities have not verified his current place of employment or residence. The police and relevant agencies continue their efforts to locate him and bring him into custody.

The tribunal will also consider various disciplinary measures, including the possibility of removing him from the medical register, suspending his license, or opting for no action if the allegations are substantiated.
