ALLEN ALEXANDER-ROUSE SENTENCED IN INVERNESS AND FALKIRK SEX ABUSE CASE

A man named Allen Alexander-Rouse, aged 38, has been handed a significant prison sentence after a lengthy and disturbing campaign of sexual abuse against two women. The crimes, which spanned nearly thirteen years, took place in the Scottish towns of Inverness and Falkirk, located in Stirlingshire.

Alexander-Rouse was convicted following a trial held in Inverness, where the court heard how he repeatedly raped both women and indecently assaulted one of them. The offences occurred over a period from January 2006 to November 2019, revealing a pattern of predatory behavior that persisted for more than a decade.

During the sentencing hearing at Glasgow High Court, Judge Douglas Brown delivered a stark account of how Alexander-Rouse manipulated and intimidated his victims. The judge emphasized that his actions left the women feeling trapped, powerless, and worthless. The emotional toll on the victims was palpable, with one describing her daily existence as a struggle simply to survive, feeling imprisoned by her experiences with him. The other victim recounted how the abuse dehumanized her, leaving her feeling like an empty shell, stripped of her dignity and humanity.

Despite the overwhelming evidence and the conviction, Alexander-Rouse maintained his innocence, claiming that he was 'loving' towards the women. However, the jury's verdict was unanimous, and he was found guilty of all charges.

As part of his sentence, Alexander-Rouse will serve seven years in prison. Additionally, he will be subject to a further three years of supervised release after his release, during which he will be monitored to prevent any further harm. He will also be registered as a sex offender and is subject to a non-harassment order that prohibits him from making contact with the victims.

Jurors initially heard that Alexander-Rouse appeared friendly but gradually became possessive and abusive over time. His defense team acknowledged some remorse for his actions; however, the judge pointed out that this remorse was expressed late and appeared insincere during interviews conducted for a pre-sentencing report, further highlighting the severity of his misconduct.
