ALLAN POLLITT'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN BIRKENHEAD AND LIVERPOOL REVEALED

In a series of disturbing revelations, Allan Pollitt, a former Scout leader from Birkenhead, has been convicted of multiple serious sexual offenses spanning several decades.

His criminal history includes a second conviction in April 2019 for molesting a young boy, as well as a previous lengthy imprisonment for similar offenses.

Pollitt, now aged 65, first targeted vulnerable children in the early 1970s.

His initial assault occurred at the Parkfield Children’s Home in Aigburth, where he preyed upon a teenage boy.

During the night, Pollitt sneaked into the boy’s dormitory and climbed into his bed, subjecting him to a terrifying sexual attack.

The young victim was left traumatized, and Pollitt’s assault was repeated months later, with the same boy.

After the second attack, Pollitt callously told the boy to “clean himself up,” showing a blatant disregard for his victim’s suffering.

The young man, who kept his ordeal secret for over 40 years due to embarrassment and fear of disbelief, finally disclosed the abuse during a psychiatric consultation in 2016.

His courage led to Pollitt’s recent conviction, and he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for indecent assault.

The victim, now 60, has spoken openly about the lasting impact of the abuse, revealing that he has struggled with forming relationships and intimacy issues.

He expressed regret for not speaking out sooner but also noted that his family has fared well despite the trauma.

Pollitt’s criminal record is extensive.

In 1997, he was jailed for 15 years—later reduced to 12 on appeal—for sexually abusing six young boys.

His victims ranged in age from nine to 17, including two Cubs and two residents of a Liverpool children’s home.

The former director of the Birkenhead Scout Gang Show also admitted to indecently assaulting two other Scouts.

His predatory behavior was characterized by a blatant abuse of trust, given his roles within the Scout organization and the children’s home.

During the 1997 trial, Judge William Wickham condemned Pollitt’s actions, emphasizing the gravity of his breaches of trust.

The court heard how Pollitt’s abuse extended to a particularly disturbing incident on a Scottish island, where he described assaulting a 15-year-old Scout on the beach—a detail that left the court and the public appalled.

Pollitt, who identified as bi-sexual, was found guilty based on overwhelming evidence, including testimonies from multiple victims.

Further details emerged about Pollitt’s history of abuse.

In 1973, he indecently assaulted a 10-year-old Cub Scout during a camping trip at Waverton, Cheshire.

Pollitt lured the boy into his sleeping bag under the guise of being a ‘hotwater bottle,’ and molested him during the night.

The abuse recurred when the boy was about 12, after Pollitt had befriended his family.

Additionally, another victim, a Scout whose parents Pollitt had befriended, was molested during a camping trip and later at Pollitt’s home.

Despite the mounting evidence, Pollitt denied the allegations, claiming that the accusations were fabricated by boys seeking compensation or attempting to remove him from his position.

Nevertheless, the court found him guilty of multiple charges, including buggery and indecent assault, highlighting his abuse of children in his care and within the Scout community.

Judge Gary Woodhall sentenced Pollitt to an additional ten years in prison in April 2019.

The court also mandated that Pollitt must inform police of his whereabouts for the rest of his life and prohibited him from working with children in the future.

During the sentencing, Pollitt blew kisses to two family members in the public gallery, a gesture that underscored the ongoing personal connections he maintained despite his criminal history.
