ROSYTH MAN JAILED FOR SPITTING AT PARTNER HOLDING BABY DURING MONTHS OF ABUSE
A ROSYTH man who spat at his former partner when she was holding a baby has been jailed.Some of the spittle landed on the child and the incident was just part of domestic abuse which went on for 10 months.
Alexander McManus, 31, of Primrose Lane, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, having previously admitted a catalogue of abuse.
Between June 1, 2020 and March 24 last year at Spittalfield Road, Inverkeithing, he engaged in an abusive course of conduct towards his partner.
He assaulted her by pushing her against a wall to her injury.
He also assaulted her by seizing her by the throat, compressing it and spat on her.
He spat in her face when she was holding a baby, causing the child to be struck in the face by saliva.
McManus also made racially offensive remarks towards her.
He further admitted he repeatedly recorded her on his mobile phone, shouted, screamed, attended at her home uninvited, acted aggressively towards her and repeatedly sent her messages.
Sheriff Charles Macnair jailed McManus for 250 days.
