Ray Beaty, 71, was returning from a cricket match when he was set upon at Bradford Upon Avon railway station in Wiltshire on June 28 2005.
Mr Beaty, a life member of Gloucester Cricket County Club, was on his way home from a match between Gloucester and Warwickshire when Alexander Graham and Raymond Lawrence from Warminster, Wiltshire, threw him onto the track and began attacking him.
Alexander Graham, 39, and 25-year-old Raymond Lawrence each received six-year jail sentences after being found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent by a jury at Swindon Crown Court.
Welcoming the jury's guilty verdicts Mr Beaty said: "Hundreds of people like me go to cricket matches and festivals to enjoy the sport and have a nice day out.
We shouldn't fear being attacked even if some people may have had a few drinks."
